Love Is Blind

Posted by Suplado | 2/20/2010 | | 1 comments »

Do you believe that love is blind? An SWS survey was conducted from Nov. 24 to 29, 2006 using face-to-face interviews among 1,200 adults. According to the survey results, seven out of ten Filipinos and even more Filipina with 72 percent believe in this Shakespearean saying that “Love is blind”.

Almost everywhere and everyday we could meet and see along the way that really, love is blind. You may have seen beautiful ladies with tall dark and ugly men or on the other hand, a handsome man with just a bright girl. Tall women with short guys but who knows maybe this guy is using vigrx. I laugh but somehow believe in the big winner of Pinoy Big Brother Double Up’s Melai’s favorite quotation when she was asked about love. She said “Love is like a bubblegum. If it sticks, you go crazy!”

El Nino Phenomenon

After the unforgettable flooding brought to us by the two typhoons that hit us last year, now we are experiencing the El Nino Phenomenon that made our government agency warn us to conserve water because there will be a possibility of water shortage because of this. As early as this month, many provinces had already declared a state of calamity because of millions of pesos in losses due to this draught. Many of our farm fields cannot be used now.

Hopefully this will serve as a warning that let start saving our world this phenomenon is natural but the big contributor of this mankind. This is not late yet. Start now so that someday our grandchildren will still see green fields and surroundings as they open their window blinds and still breathe the fragrance of clean surroundings.

I Got A Feeling

Yesterday after dinner I had a terrible headache and I couldn’t explain why I was sweating even it was cold inside the car. I just felt relieved after I threw up. I was lucky to be able to drive the car safely home. I just turned off the air conditioning just opened the window.

I still don’t know what kind of a feeling I experienced last night but I told myself it’s time to lose weight and exercise again. Maybe a quick trim fast cleanse with healthy foods and exercise can help me recover.

Filipino in Biggest Loser Asia

Only one Filipino is left in biggest loser Asia. He is no other than Carlo Miguel, a professional chef for 14 years. Carlo is born in a family of chefs. His mother and grandfather are great cooks that even his mother’s recipes are featured in some magazines. His brother is also a chief and that may be a reason why fat burner pills don’t have an effect to them.

Hopefully Carlo will make it to the finals.

Presidential Debate

I am glad that there are debates for those who are running for president of the country. I hope they could use this as a right venue to present themselves to the voters so that we will have complete knowledge about what a particular presidential candidate and their view or stand on certain issues. Hopefully these candidates will not use these debates to attack other candidates. We observed other debates in the past wherein even how the candidate colored his hair were also tackled. Hopefully physical appearances like baldness, adult acne and the likes will be out of the question.

Dream Wedding Destination

Today’s weddings are gearing away from the traditional towards contemporary. This starts from the kind of wedding gown and fashion accessories that the bride will have to wear, the food setting, the invitation card design and yes, the venue.

Because of this, numerous hotels and resorts try to be versatile destination weddings venue not only for the reception but even for the ceremony proper.

If you are planning to hold your wedding, it will be worth checking out the white sand beaches of Karisma Hotels located in the Mexican Riviera Maya. The name “karisma” is taken from the Greek word meaning “divine favor” and true enough, this collection of resorts presents luxurious accommodations, surprising indulgences and the elite level of service that makes any wedding truly unforgettable.

My Blogsites

Time runs so fast. I hardly noticed that it’s been two years since I started this blog site two years ago.

I still remember my first ever post on this site which was in Jan 19, 2008. The title of my first blog was “A Portrait of a Photographer” and this was followed by my travel website, news and information and photography blog sites. Now I am maintaining almost six blog sites and websites.

Hopefully I could have more time to maintain these all so I can share more stories and photography in the future.

First Automated Election

Today marks the first day of the national position for the upcoming first ever full automation of the election in the country. Since this is the first time that Filipinos will use computers in voting. It is hoped that the COMELEC will put more emphasis on voter education, specifically on how to vote properly so that everyone’s vote will count and not come to waste. This is true especially among elderly voters who have yet to see computers for the first time.

We Are the World for Haiti

I am glad that several artists gathered again for the sequel of the song “We are the World”. This time this is made for the Haiti earthquake victims.

Included in the cast are Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne, Wyclef Jean, Josh Groban, Will.I. Am. from Black Eyed Peas, Rappers like T-Pain, Kanye West, Bizzy Bone, Kid Cudi, LL Cool J, Snoop Dogg, Drake, Mann, Nipsey Hussle, Busta Rhymes and Swizz Beatz. There are also current stars such as Miley Cyrus, Keri Hilson and Best New Artist Grammy winner Zac Brown. Veterans are also joining and they include Barbra Streisand, Carlos Santana, Natalie Cole, BeBe Winans, the members of Heart; Freda Payne, Harry Connick Jr, Earth, Wind & Fire, the Beach Boys' Brian Wilson and Al Jardine, Tony Bennett, "Slumdog Millionaire" film score composer A.R. Rahman, "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson, Patti Austin, Celine Dion and Gladys Knight. A few actors are also in the studio such as Jeff Bridges and Vince Vaughn, as well as the offspring of co-producers Lionel Richie and Quincy Jones, Nicole Richie and "Parks and Recreation" star Rashida Jones, members of 3T such as the sons of Tito Jackson, Taj, Taryll, TJ Jackson and a lot more.

This good cause is expected to help thousands of Haitians who suffered much from this calamity. Proceeds can help make those people start all over again in terms of building a new home. As we all know thousands of families were scattered around Port-au-Prince living in a temporary shelter, such as tents and ruins. Hopefully they could get better tents and not just motorhome towingstuff and that safety factors are also considered.
