I remember when we used to operate our internet café business before, we used to buy category 5 cable (also known as Cat5 or "Cable and Telephone"). It is a twisted pair cable type designed for high signal integrity we used for computer networks.

We used to have 8 computers networked in our café and only using dial up. But now I heard because of new technology, the use of DSL digital subscriber loop, and other broadband services when the internet connection runs faster connection and carries many other signals such as voice and other data, Cat5 has been superseded by the enhanced version CAT5e.
