A fifteen-year-old Vietnamese girl named Lai Thi Dao with 16-pound facial tumor suffers from a Schwannoma tumor that has been growing since she was 3. She is now in Miami awaiting surgery to restore her ability to eat and speak. The tumor has severely disfigured her face. Lai has had to drop out of school and feels awkward meeting people. And that kept her from ever attending school.

The schwannoma is a benign tumor of nerve fibers. It is seldom painful, despite its origin from nerves, because it is actually a proliferation of the nerve sheath or insulation. It can reach a considerable size, although usually it remains small. There is no potential for it to become cancer unless the patient has many nerve tumors, i.e. has Von Recklinghausen's disease. Even then the risk is low. Treatment is conservative surgical removal.

In 2007, Lai was hospitalized and diagnosed by some charity doctors from the United States. The doctors discovered the tumor was benign but to remove it would cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. Thus, the International Kids Fund is seeking donations to fund Lai's surgery.

Now Doctors at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center say the tumor threatens to suffocate Lai. They will remove it in a 10-hour surgery on April 29.

When you search the meaning of blog over the world wide web, this is how Wikipedia defines it: “A blog (an abridgment of the term web log) is a website, usually maintained by an individual, with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video.”

Blogs are also defined as personal online diaries, but we seldom see blogs whose contents are written by bloggers’ personal daily walks of life. Maybe 10 – the most is 20% are doing it. This percentage is based only on my own blog surfing activity. Mostly, blogs I surfed provide commentary or news on a particular subject. Others function on hot topics, entertainment and mostly money making.

But Shuangthetwinz blog captured my attention. When she wrote about her family, her reflections and opinions, education, her hobby, travel, her life and her world for more than three years, I feel impressed. As you read it, you will really feel her happiness, sadness, excitement, her love and hatred from her everyday struggle of life.

I almost read 20 of her latest post but I want to read her first ever post first I was just curious when she started it and how she started it. Join me in wanting to get to know her more.

I know most of us bloggers know already the advantages of being an entrecard blog advertising network member or user. Almost three months of blogging (just a newbie), I have fun surfing other people’s blog as well, to gather data and facts about how to make my blog better. I always see this widget on the sidebars of those blogs I happened to surf. It took me two months before I was able to ask my friend what this entre card is all about.

After a brief explanation from her I registered without knowing how to use or run this thing. But I already read some articles about entre card but I don’t put emphases too much on it. Till I started using it. I learned that you have to visit blogsite who are entrecard user and make a drop.

I started dropping believing first that if you will drop in that certain blog, you will have an opportunity to advertise your site in somebody’s blogsite. I just discovered later after a week of using it that I am gaining some credits in order for me to buy a slot to advertise someone’s blog and also purchase merchandise from entre card members also. That’s the reasons why someone’s giving away entrecard credits.

Now after two weeks from signing up to entre card, I already felt the advantages of it. It increases my daily visits to almost 30%. Maybe I could increase it more if I already could perform 300 drops a day, the usual drop limits. But this time, I could average a1most 150 – 200 drops a day. But only got 40 -50 drops in return from other entre card members. But its ok since I still don’t have advertisement to other blogs which I know can add to my daily visitor count. As what I have seen through my entre card dash board, there are 20-30 clicks from my blog to others because of entre card advertisement:

In my next entry about entre card, I will post what is my style in droping. I know most of the users have their own style. But I am sure styles work for them but sometime not in us. So have to explore a style which is more convenient to you.

My Cousin Charlene is presently working on her Master’s degree in business at the University of California. I was surprised when she emailed and asked me. “Blogging... you can make money at this huh? That's cool.”

She was the only daughter of my son and she is presently living in the United States. She was born and raised there and never got a chance to visit Philippines. Maybe it will be one of her plans someday. I remember when I was a kid I have to make some letter cutting art of her name and send it to her through post mails. If she could remember, I sent her some paper dolls also which I bought outside my school in elementary.

And now years have gone by. She’s grown to become a beautiful lady. Smart and kind just like my aunt. We her family here in the Philippines are very excited and happy that someday she could visit us here and feel the simple life of the Filipino. I know she’s proud to have Filipino blood.

I also remember once, I chatted with her mom, Tita Nimfa. She wanted to let Charlene meet my Filipino friends living in Sacramento and L.A. which is near to their place to have more friends and mingle with Filipinos, too.

And even though we haven’t met yet in person, I could feel the sweetness, kindness and respect the true Filipino values in here. I know once she could visit us here she will love Philippines more and will be proud to be Filipino wherever she may be.

I really had a bad headache today and a really hard cough went along with it. I had to run three articles for my blogsite because I was having problems with my internet connection yesterday. I had to reformat again my computer in order for me to re-connect. So I spent the whole day yesterday fixing things out on my computer.

It’s really important that you have a little knowledge in computer trouble-shooting or else your computer will end up to computer shop. You are lucky if your computer is still on warranty or service free guarantee. Because if not, some computer technician will charge you P500 pesos for check ups only. Another fee for the materials or parts use plus the labor cost. Aside from it, the time the you never had a chance to use it because computer shops sometimes especially if they have lots of customers, it reaches almost a week before they will be finished fixing it up.

That’s the reason for bloggers to have a back up computer or laptop to be used. But the most important thing is is to learn about the computer. Don’t just sit there browsing all the time. You have to learn how to trouble-shoot it personally. Because yesterday the onsite technician visited in my place because I thought it was a line problem again of my internet provider. But they found out that it’s my computer that had a problem. So they told me to bring my computer to a computer shop to have a check up. Maybe my LAN had a problem. But after they left I fixed it my self. Did the reformatting again and intenet configuration. Praise Yahweh I was able to fix it. Now I have my connection back and am able to post some articles.
